Partie
Gaming Community Platform

Overview
Partie's mission is to make gaming more accessible, inclusive, and rewarding by creating shared connections. I designed the application experience, user flow, and content to ensure everyone could get involved. We built the design system in Figma and website in Webflow, later migrating to WordPress.
Problem
Partie needed to launch a gaming community app across multiple platforms simultaneously:
- Required parity across Mac OS native app, web app, iOS, and Android
- Startup budget meant efficient use of design and development resources
- Animation-heavy brand identity required specialized production capabilities
- Need to support web, social, and marketing materials in addition to product
- Design system had to be simple enough for team to extend without constant design support
Goals
- Create a cohesive design system that works across Mac, iOS, Android, and web
- Enable the team to independently build on the system after initial delivery
- Support product, web, social, and marketing materials from a single system
- Make gaming connections accessible and inclusive for all users
- Build an experience that feels rewarding and engaging
Process
I designed the application experience, user flow, and content to ensure everyone could get involved. The result was a cohesive design system backing a Mac OS native app, web app, and mobile apps (iOS and Android), along with web, social, and marketing assets.
Working with BluBlu Animation Studios, we created an animation-heavy brand that could scale across platforms without becoming a development bottleneck. The key was identifying core motion patterns that could be reused and extended rather than creating bespoke animations for every interaction.
Solution
We built the design system in Figma to support all platforms and use cases:
- Product Design: Mac OS native app, web app, iOS app, Android app
- Marketing Materials: Website, social assets, promotional materials
- Brand Identity: Animation patterns, visual style, tone
The system was designed to be extensible—the Partie team could add new features and create new marketing materials without needing constant design support. We documented patterns, components, and usage guidelines to enable independence.
Multi-Platform Consistency Despite platform-specific constraints (Mac native vs. web vs. mobile), we maintained visual and experiential consistency. Users moving between platforms encountered familiar patterns and interactions.
Animation as a System Rather than treating animation as decoration, we built it into the system as a functional layer. Motion patterns communicated state, guided attention, and reinforced the playful gaming brand without overwhelming users or creating development bottlenecks.
Result
The result is a cohesive design system supporting all platforms and use cases. Partie successfully launched with consistent experiences across Mac, iOS, Android, and web. The team has continued using the design system to build new features, create marketing materials, and evolve the brand—demonstrating the system's extensibility and value.
